What's in a Pirate name?

During this Somali pirate crisis, I discovered a new blog due to a Obama/pirate parody that went viral on the web: Obama Reaches Out to 'Moderate' Pirate Community and its equally hilarious follow-up: Resolved: Vikings > Pirates.

But getting back to the topic title, now that we are being forced to speak in euphemisms to foster self esteem in the world I was pondering alternative names to "Pirate". "Sea Rovers"? "Aqua Terrorists"? "Maritime Redistributors of Wealth"? "Misunderstood Victims of the United States"?

Take your pick or add your own.
